Someone's Daughter
A young couple meets in the ruins, defying everything, stealing moments to feel human once again. Above them, an eye watches from a distance. Between the watcher and the watched, a single moment will decide everything. Fast-moving and tender, this short story is the first within a groundbreaking and breathtaking four-part series.
Opening Message
When you wake, let your hand rest over your heart, feel it whisper back to you. That sound is your first home. No matter where you go, it will always know the way. Keep your shoes by the door, even when you sleep, you never know when the ground will ask you to move.
Dear, if you ever feel alone, remember: you are never walking by yourself. I will walk beside you in dust, in silence, in the sound of your name. Carry the small things, a piece of bread, a kind word, a memory that burns soft.
These are stronger than stone. These are what survive.
