This collection of seven narrative articles documents life in Gaza during the unfolding genocide, focusing on Palestinian memory and the effort to rebuild amid widespread destruction. Message to the Reader

Dearest Reader,

I write these words from Gaza, where no place is safe. The occupation’s bombs fall on homes, schools, markets, hospitals—on every space that should support life. I have witnessed families erased in an instant, children killed while fetching water, and friends buried beneath rubble. The aggression spares no one, and in its violence, even the simplest acts of survival have become acts of risk.

These stories are not only mine; they are Gaza’s. They are the lived truths of a people targeted for simply existing. They carry the weight of my shattered city, of loved ones lost, and of the endless fear that tomorrow may never come.

And yet, I write because these stories must live. By reading them, you carry part of Gaza’s story with you. By sharing them, you affirm that behind every statistic is a human soul, a memory, a dream cut short by bombs.

If these words reach you, let them remind you of Gaza’s humanity. Let them be a testament to the brutality of an occupation that deliberately targets civilians, and a reminder that behind every shattered building is a family, a history, and a dream.

With Love and Resilience, Khaled Al-Qershali
