Ahmed Sarsour

A Palestinian/Sudanese poet, activist, and human rights advocate shaped by displacement and resistance. Born in July 1993, he spent 21 years in Sudan before fleeing the man-made civil war and later enduring Gaza’s catastrophic war.

A self-taught English speaker and born artist, Ahmed’s poetry is forged through pain, love, and resilience. His work urgently advocates for Gaza amid ongoing genocide, challenging dehumanization through verse and using art as a form of resistance and healing. Ahmed lives by the ethos “No one left behind” and believes that true freedom is collective: “No one is free until we all are.”

Ahmed Sarsour is the author of Don’t Leave Us Behind, created by a separate collective of volunteers. This work has been adapted into a black-and-white, easy-to-print zine by Coastal Lines Press.
