Who We Are
We are writers in Gaza. We write because silence is not an option.
Coastal Lines Press began in summer 2025 as a collective of writers in Gaza who turned to publishing as a lifeline—transforming words into vital support for their families. Through Zines from Gaza, we create and share booklets of poetry, essays, and testimonies carrying stories of survival, resistance, and hope.
In just over four months, 280 volunteers helped publish 20 zines in multiple languages, reaching thousands of readers worldwide.
As more writers join the collective and new zines take shape, we are looking for more people to support this growing initiative and help Palestinian voices reach the world.
👉 There are many ways to get involved. We are currently looking for:
– editors
– designers
– illustrators
– translators
– copywriters
– audio/video editors
– support with printing, assembling, distribution, and mailing zines
We are especially in need of skilled English language editors that are sensitive to the unique emotional challenges of writing during a genocide. Audio and video editors are needed to help us launch a podcast, entitled From Shore to Shore with Shahd Alnaami.
If you’d like to volunteer, fill out the volunteer sign-up form in the about section, and a member of our team will be in touch!
